Transform behavior management in your classroom and allow every student to succeed. "Discipline Win" offers practical strategies to improve behavior, foster ownership, and create a positive learning environment. Join our book study and gain the tools and insights needed to effectively address challenging behaviors and cultivate a supportive classroom community.

Course Basics:  MSTA’s “Beyond the Book” Club professional book studies are housed in Teachable, an online course platform.

MSTA's "Beyond the Book” Club is facilitated by Nicole Nowlin, fifth-grade teacher, Lee's Summit School District and MSTA member.

Guiding questions and assignments are posted in the Teachable course. These questions provide an opportunity for participants to share and reflect on the topics and ideas presented in the reading. Teachable courses are by design asynchronous. Participants are expected to complete all sections of the course prior to the last day of the month in which they are taking the course. Although encouraged, participants are not required to respond to other participants.

Participants complete a Core Concept Assignment which applies the concepts learned and discussed to one’s classroom. Participants can work on the assignment and complete it at any point during the book study. Assignment details are shared in the Teachable course

PD Certification: At the end of the month, PD certificates will be generated for participants who completed all book study requirements. PD certificates will be emailed to participant.
