Join our September professional book study tailored for new and verteran teachers alike as we dive into the practical wisdom of "Dealing with Difficult Parents".

Join MSTA's "Beyond the Book" book study and gain valuable insights on effectively navigating challenging parent-teacher relationships. "Dealing with Difficult Parents" offers practical strategies and expert advice to foster positive communication and build strong partnerships. Enhance your skills in handling sensitive situations and create a harmonious learning environment.

Course Basics:
The Learning Management System,
Teachable, is used to house discussion board conversations and group materials. MSTA's "Beyond the Book" Club is facilitated by Nicole Nowlin, fifth-grade teacher, Lee's Summit School District and MSTA member.

Guiding questions and assignments are posted in the Teachable course. These questions provide an opportunity for participants to share and reflect on the topics and ideas presented in the reading. Teachable courses are by design asynchronous.

Each month, participants complete a Core Concept Assignment. Participants can work on the assignment and complete it at any point during the book study. Assignment details are shared in the Teachable course and are intended for participants to apply concepts learned and discussed during the course to their own classroom.

PD Certification: At the end of the month, certificates of PD will be generated for participants. PD certificates will be emailed through Teachable.
