2023 Deep Dive

SQUABBLES: Games for Conflict Resolution

November 17, 2023

10:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Social Psychologist Dr. Brooks Gibbs takes a playful approach to the painful problem of aggression on campus. For 20+ years, he has taught educators how to manage conflict on the classroom level before things escalate to administration. He has developed a library of lessons, games, and quick interventions to teach resilience-building techniques that will empower students to cure themselves of offendability. This is not another "anti-bullying" presentation... in fact, it is an anti-anti-bullying presentation that promotes an educational approach to managing aggression rather than a legal one. Come learn a systematic and practical way to help students learn how to solve their own social problems. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.
