New Beginning Teacher Assistance Requirements
MSTA's Online and Onsite BTAP programs cover four topics:
- Classroom environment
- Instruction and engagement
- Professional communication
- Education-related laws
Both programs incorporate the Missouri Teaching Standards which are at the core of Missouri’s evaluation tools. Participants learn effective and engaging teaching practices and strategies for increased student achievement. Both programs provide networking opportunities with educators from across Missouri.
Online BTAP Details:
Over a one-month period, participants in MSTA's online BTAP collaborate in discussion boards and online readings, audiocasts and video format. Online courses are limited to 45 participants.
Onsite BTAP Details:
The Onsite BTAP is a one-day event. Participants receive a BTAP Resource book and USB.
To complete the BTAP requirement for certification, one must:
- Enroll in an online or onsite BTAP.
- Participate in a minimum of two (2) MSTA Beyond the Book Club book studies.
- Complete an end-of-course survey to meet the BTAP requirement.
Participants can enroll in a BTAP and book club during the same month.
